What it does

Your voice, wherever Claude needs it.

Most voice tools dump text into a box and call it done. VoiceDrop is built around one specific workflow: you're looking at something in the browser and you have thoughts.

Floating mic, always there

One orange orb in the corner of every page. Click to start, click to stop. Drag it wherever you want.

Voice history

Every recording is saved as a block. Copy individual thoughts or everything at once. Nothing disappears between sessions.

Push directly to Claude

If claude.ai is open, your voice goes straight into the chat and sends. If not, it copies to clipboard and waits for you.

EN / DE, live switch

Toggle between English and German recognition on the fly. No restart needed - even mid-session.

How it works

Four steps. Fifteen seconds to set up.

1

Download and unzip

One zip file, no dependencies, no npm install. Open it and you'll find a folder called voicedrop.

2

Load in Chrome

Go to chrome://extensions, enable Developer mode, click "Load unpacked", select the voicedrop folder.

3

Allow microphone access

Chrome will ask once. Click Allow. That's the only permission prompt you'll ever see.

4

Click the orb and speak

The orange mic button lives in the bottom-right of every page. Or use Ctrl+M to toggle from anywhere.

What makes it different

Built for one workflow. Not a hundred.

There are plenty of voice tools. This one is specifically for developers and founders who live between the browser and Claude - reviewing builds, writing feedback, thinking out loud while looking at the actual thing.

It doesn't require an account. It doesn't send your audio anywhere. It uses Chrome's built-in Web Speech API - your voice is processed locally by Google's speech engine, exactly the same as Chrome's native dictation. The extension itself sees only the final text.

And it's genuinely free. No freemium. No "upgrade for history." No ads. It's a tool we built for ourselves and decided to share.

Who it's for

If you review things in a browser and talk to Claude, it's for you.

Founders reviewing staging deploys and sending feedback to Claude Code
Developers switching between browser and VS Code who don't want to type the same thought twice
Anyone who thinks faster out loud than they type
Bilingual users who switch between English and German depending on the day
People who've ever said "I just want to tell Claude what I see without stopping to type it"

Stop typing. Start shipping.
